The HEAD Noise Generator provides the diffuse field required
by telecom standards for measuring Listener Sidetone Masking
Rating (LSTR).
The HEAD Noise Generator provides uncorrelated noise sources
for performing diffuse field telecommunications measurements
such as Listener SideTone Masking Rating (LSTR) according
to international standards.
HNG can be configured as a 4-channel system or as an 8-channel
system, with or without amplifiers.
Selectable sound sources include white noise, pink noise,
and Hoth noise.
An external source can also be used.In order to ensure that
a proper diffuse field has been created, reference measurements
are made in the test chamber where the HNG is set up.
These measurements are used to set equalization in each of
the channels.
