Have you ever spent over an hour setting up sensors to measure crank shaft RPM or wheel speed? Do you use throttle position to evaluate exhaust noise? Are you an ABS engineer? Does your job require knowledge about powertrain pressures and temperatures? If so, you will be interested in the CAN 10 Module for SQlab.
All of the data mentioned above may be available on the test vehicle's computer bus and soon many vehicles will comply with the Bosch Controller Area Network CAN 2.0B. All of the CAN data can be made available to the SQlab as inputs for making simultaneous NVH and vehicle parameter measurements. All that is needed for getting CAN inputs is a CAN10 Module and a cable that connects to the vehicle bus. Using the CAN10 modules increases measurement productivity by reducing set-up times and can improve troubleshooting of noise and vibration problems by providing more data on various vehicle operating conditions that were difficult to access in the past. The SQlab is compatible with automotive high-speed CAN and SAE J1939 11 or 12 for heavy truck, bus, construction, and agricultural applications. The SQlab is further compatible with Intel or Motorola formats and has a flexible baud rate to measure all CAN protocol layers with a 250-type transceiver.
